With the gradual implementation of the contactless card ticketing system, 2015 will be the last year during which public transport tickets in their different configurations and traditional formats such as paper, cardboard or PVC, with or without magnetic strips, will be used. Thus ends a period initiated in the mid-nineteenth century with the issuing of the first transport tickets for coaches, railways and trams.
