How to get it?

Users who renew an annual travel pass

The CRTM will send a communication on the 3rd week of November to the users who have the 2017 Annual Pass, indicating how to proceed to renewal this transport ticket for 2018.

This year, to continue using your Annual Travel Pass from January 1, 2018, you must perform the following operations:

  1. Update the expiration date of your card to extend its useful life. This operation is very simple, just insert the card in a reader of the automatic ticketing machines, located in the Madrid Metro or Renfe lobbies. A message will indicate that the update has been made. In case of an incident, you can go to one of the management offices of the Public Transport Card.  
  2. Obtain the payment letter. As in previous years, along with the communication, you will receive a letter of payment containing the amount to be paid. If you wish, you can download it through the following link: https://www.tarjetatransportepublico.es/anual/entrada.aspx
  3. Pay for the renewal of your Annual Pass. Payment must be made using the letter of payment, from November 23 until December 31 in the collaborating banks indicated.
    • In cash: at Bankia's ATMs and at the teller window of the branches with a cashier service.
    • By bank card: CaixaBank ATMs and Bankia ATMs and branches (Bankia cards only).
    • On line: through electronic banking of the collaborating entities:

    • Mobile App by "Bill payment" of CaixaBank.

The validity of your annual card will end on December 31, so, in case of not making the deposit within the deadline, or not update the expiration date of it, your card will stop working on January 1 of 2018.

In case of renewal, from January 20, 2018 you will receive at your address the invoice for the payment of your Annual Travel Pass for 2018.

  • Current photo, whose colour and size must be similar to the passport one (except you request it in the management office, where the photo is taken in situ).
  • Original and copy of ID, passport or residence authorization.
  • Printed filled form.
     
    • If you meet the criteria to obtain a discount, you must present the certificate of large family or the certificate of disability (equal or higher than 65%).
    • If the requesting party is 14 years old and does not have an ID, he/she must present an original and photocopy of the Family Book or the birth certificate. In addition, he/she must present a printed authorization of his/her parents/guardian and original and copy of the ID of his/her parents/guardian.
